Sports Facility Upgrade
In 2006, a large Central Virginia county sought to convert a typical municipal ballfield and picnic area into a world-class baseball and softball facility, capable of hosting large, national tournaments. This undertaking would require a full-scale renovation of the fields, bleachers, dugouts, parking areas and general green space surrounding the park.
With decades of experience in baseball and softball field care and maintenance, Luck Ecosystems provides a range of FieldGem Ball Field Mix products. FieldGem products enable safer, more consistent play, easier maintenance and the traditional color players expect on the infield clay surfaces of a baseball diamond. Luck Ecosystems had a longstanding relationship working with this county, supporting local parks with sports field performance products. When the county decided to upgrade the facility, Luck Ecosystems partnered with the site contractor on the project to provide all of the field materials; including, infield mix, warning track media and rootzone material.
In addition to Luck Ecosystems providing materials for the fields, Luck Stone supplied crushed stone for the construction of the surrounding elements of the facility; including, foundations, parking areas, roads, curbs and gutters. The ability to single source a variety of products from sports field media to crushed stone, allows Luck Ecosystems and Luck Stone to drive efficiencies in ordering, hauling and billing for our customers.
Since the enhancements, the new sports complex has become known as the flagship park for the county, attracting dozens of high-profile tournaments every year, including the Babe Ruth World Series and Cal Ripken Regional Tournaments.
